1. If an App Asks to Track Your Activity
When you’re playing games or using apps, you might see a pop-up asking for permission to track your activity.
Allowing this tracking is essential for apps to accurately register your mission progress. Otherwise, your progress won’t be counted, and you won’t earn any points.
2. For Apple Users: Grant Permission Before Installing a Game
If you’re using an Apple device, tracking permissions can be critical. Before installing a game, make sure to allow the app to track your activity. If tracking is not allowed, your progress won’t be counted and can't be restored later.
Here’s how to check and manage your settings:
On iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Turn On "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
- You can also enable tracking permissions for specific apps in the list.
Important Notes:
- If you turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in Privacy & Security settings, you won’t see prompts from apps requesting permission to track. When this setting is off, any app that attempts to track you will automatically be treated as though you tapped "Ask App Not to Track."
- If you install a game while tracking is turned off:
- Your progress won’t be counted, and unfortunately, this cannot be fixed retroactively.
- Even if you turn tracking back on later, your past progress won’t automatically update.
For more information, refer to Apple’s Help Center article: If an app asks to track your activity.
3. Turn Off VPN on the Device You’re Using to Install and Play Games
- VPNs often change your IP address or location, which can disrupt the connection between the app and its servers.
- Disabling the VPN ensures the game can properly log your actions and track your progress.
How to Turn Off a VPN:
- On most devices, go to Settings > Network & Internet > VPN, and toggle it off.
On iPhone:
- Open Settings and tap General.
- Tap VPN & Device Management.
- Select VPN.
- Toggle the VPN status switch to Not Connected.
On Android:
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap Network & Internet and then VPN.
- If you can’t find it, search for "VPN."
- If it’s still not visible, check your device manufacturer’s guide for help.
- Next to the VPN you want to disconnect, tap Settings.
- To disconnect: Turn off the VPN.
- To forget the network: Tap Forget.
4. You may encounter a VPN detection error from any of these apps, and you will need to disable it before proceeding.
Disabling Cloudflare Warp VPN

- In the app, tap the VPN button in the middle of the screen to turn it off.
- You can also disable it by going to your device’s Settings > Network & Internet > VPN, and then tap Cloudflare Warp to disconnect it.
For iOS:
- Open the Cloudflare Warp app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the VPN button to disable the connection.
- Alternatively, go to Settings > VPN, and toggle the VPN connection off.
Disabling Google One VPN
For Android:
- Open the Google One app on your device.
- Tap on the VPN section from the main menu.
- Tap Turn Off or Disconnect to disable the VPN.
For iOS:
- Open the Google One app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on the VPN option from the app’s main screen.

Disabling Google Fi VPN
For Android:
- Open the Google Fi app on your device.
- Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
- Go to Settings > VPN.
- Toggle the VPN off to disable it.
For iOS:
- Open the Google Fi app on your iPhone.
- Tap the Account tab at the bottom.
- Go to Settings > VPN, and toggle the VPN option off to disable it.
Disable iCloud Private Relay (For iPhone Users)
iCloud Private Relay can sometimes prevent mission tracking. To disable it:
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Private Relay.
- Tap Private Relay to turn it off.
IMPORTANT!!! If you’re using a third-party VPN app, open the app and disconnect from the VPN.
4. Disable Ad Blockers on the Device You’re Playing On
Ad blockers can sometimes interfere with how mission tracking works, especially if the game or app relies on ads to validate progress.
Here’s what to do:
- Disable ad blockers while you’re playing or using the app.
- Check your browser settings or any third-party ad blocker apps to pause or whitelist the game or app you’re using.
Why this matters: Ad blockers will block key tracking elements, causing your progress to go unrecorded. Turning them off will help avoid tracking issues.
Tip: Check your ad blocker settings periodically to confirm it’s not disrupting gameplay or tracking.
5. Do not uninstall and reinstall the game
- Whenever the game is uninstalled, the system stops recognizing missions as coming from a new account and prevents points from being collected.
- After reinstalling, new missions will not count going forward.
- Note: Our developers are currently working on a global fix for this issue.
By following these steps—granting tracking permissions, disabling VPNs, turning off Private Relay or ad blockers—you’ll ensure your mission progress is tracked correctly.
If you've followed all the recommendations above and your progress is still not being tracked, don't worry! Simply open a support ticket, and we’ll take a closer look at the issue for you.

Even after enabling Web & App Activity, and disabling my ad blocker, when I open the GrabTap app, the button that says “Allow Tracking” does nothing.
